Questions & answers
Everything about making, saving and sending a birthday card here.
Last updated: 7 November 2026
What is the name box at the top of the page?
Type the birthday person’s name there, and add their photo if you like. Every design on the page is then shown addressed to them, so you can compare cards with their own name and face before opening one. Designs with a built-in photo frame show their initial as a monogram until you add a photo.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no ads and no paid tier. MSRX earns nothing from it.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are read and resized by your own browser and drawn onto the card there. They never leave your device unless you download or share the finished card yourself.
How do I add photos?
Open a design, go to the Photos tab and add up to three. Drag a photo on the card to move it, and use the Zoom slider (or your mouse wheel) to fit it. You can pick a circle, rounded, arch, heart, polaroid or hexagon frame.
Can I write my own message?
Yes. Type anything in the Message box, or start from more than a hundred ready wishes grouped by who the card is for: Mom, Dad, friend, partner, colleague, kids, funny, belated, blessings, Hindi and more.
Can I change the fonts and colours?
Yes. The Style tab has 42 fonts, chosen separately for the headline, the small-caps accent and the message, plus a choice of headline style, colour swatches plus a custom colour picker, text size sliders, text position and an optional backdrop panel behind the words.
Which sizes can I download?
Portrait 4:5 (best for WhatsApp and Instagram posts), Square, Story 9:16 and Landscape. Each design redraws itself for the size you pick. Turn on HD for a 2× file that prints well.
What is an e-card link?
A link that opens your card in the recipient's browser with an envelope and a burst of confetti. The names and words travel inside the link itself, so nothing is stored on a server. Photos are not included; to send photos, download the card and share the image.
Why did my e-card link stop working?
Some apps cut long links. Copy it again from the studio and paste it whole. The link also needs the studio to be online.
Can I use the cards for my business?
You can send them as birthday greetings to clients and staff. You can't sell the designs or reuse them in advertising; see the terms.
Which browsers work?
Any recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, on phone or computer. Sharing straight to apps works on phones and on browsers that support the share menu; otherwise the card downloads instead.
